Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has insisted that the squad are right behind head coach Thomas Christiansen despite their recent run of poor form.

With seven defeats in their last ten league games, Leeds’ form has fallen off a cliff after a flying start to the season and they are now tenth in the Championship table.

They are currently on a three-game losing streak and the squad of players have found it hard to arrest the slide as Leeds have continued to underperform on the pitch over the last month.

Questions have been raised over Christiansen’s future at Leeds, but Phillips has sympathy for his boss and stressed that the players believe in what the Dane has been doing.

The midfielder said in a press conference: “We've been working hard. First thing you want to do is find out what you have done wrong.

"You feel for him as he is working hard.

“We believe in what he is doing, it's a bad run of games."

Leeds will be hopeful of getting their season back on track at home on Sunday, but their opponents are an in-form Middlesbrough team who have won their last three games.
