Chelsea have not returned to goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with a fresh offer since he rejected a new contract with the club in May, it has been claimed.

Courtois has been a key component of Chelsea’s last two title winning teams and is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League at the moment.




The Belgian goalkeeper has confirmed that there have been no new developments over his contract with Chelsea and he is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract next summer.

And according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Courtois rejected a new contract offer from the Premier League champions earlier this year in May.
 


There has been no new contact between the club and the player’s representatives since then as the talk of his long term future at the club continue to swirl around Stamford Bridge.

There has also been talk that the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper has been eyeing a move back to Spain in the near future and the fresh speculation over his contract at Chelsea has further muddied waters.

The 25-year-old joined Chelsea from Genk in 2011 and spent three successful season on loan at Atletico Madrid before becoming the number one at Stamford Bridge in 2014.
