Matteo Darmian is on Juventus and Napoli’s shortlist of January targets, but they are unclear whether Manchester United want to sell him in the middle of the season.

After ending last season on a high, Darmian has struggled for game time in the first few month of the campaign and has only three Premier League appearances to his name.

With full-backs believed to be on Jose Mourinho’s agenda in January, there are suggestions the Italian might find himself even more isolated in the second half of the season.

It has been claimed the defender features prominently on Juventus and Napoli’s shortlist of targets for the January transfer window, but they are still unsure about getting a deal done in January.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.it, the Serie A duo are sceptical about Mourinho agreeing to sell Darmian in the middle of the season without getting a replacement in first.

Darmian remains keen to play regular football but he has so far remained coy over his future at Manchester United.

He will have 12 months left on his contract next summer.
