Antonio Conte has laughed off David Luiz being linked with swapping Chelsea for Real Madrid next month as "speculation".

Luiz is currently out injured, but he is not guaranteed a regular spot in the starting eleven after the emergence of Andreas Christensen.

It has been claimed the Brazil defender feels he does not have a future at Chelsea going forward and further speculation has pointed towards a deal being done with Real Madrid for Luiz.

Conte insists as he has no time to read transfer speculation he has not heard the rumours as he focuses on preparing his team for their upcoming games.

And he mocked the media for previously suggesting he was on the verge of being sacked to now claiming Luiz is on his way out of Chelsea.

"I must be honest, I don't read that because I don't have time to read, because we are playing every three days", Conte told a press conference.

"My focus is on the pitch and preparing my team.

"As you know, this is speculation in this period. We pass from my sacking to Real Madrid.

"We are very fast to pass these different situations.

"My focus is on Chelsea", he added.

Conte will want Luiz back fully fit as soon as possible as Chelsea enter a tough Christmas run of fixtures which could decide whether they emerge into the new year as title contenders or simply have to focus on finishing in the top four.
