Inter Milan are plotting to spoil Juventus’ well laid out plans to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can and are keen to take him to the San Siro next summer.

The Italian champions have been on the Germany midfielder’s case since last summer and with Can refusing to sign a new deal with Liverpool, he is expected to leave Merseyside on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Juventus have been in touch with the midfielder’s entourage for several months and are confident that they have done enough to sign him next summer on a free transfer.

They have already seen off a challenge from Manchester City, but the Bianconeri could be set for some stiffer competition from Inter for the German’s signature at the end of the season.

And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, the Nerazzurri are hoping to throw a spanner into Juventus’ plans and are working behind the scenes to convince Can to move to Milan.

Currently leading the Serie A table, Inter have emerged as title contenders under Luciano Spalletti and the club hierarchy are keen to go toe-to-toe with Juventus for Can next summer.

The German is refusing to sign a new contract with Liverpool unless the Reds agree to include a release clause in the fresh terms.

And it seems Can’s list of suitors is bulging as he gets closer to the January transfer window, when he will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with a foreign club.
