Arsenal and Chelsea have been dealt a transfer blow after goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi signed a new contract with RB Leipzig.

The former Liverpool custodian has been linked with both Arsenal and Chelsea in recent months, but he has sent a signal he is not about to leave Germany.

Gulacsi has put pen to paper on a fresh contract at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig running until the summer of 2022.

He has become a key man at RB Leipzig and Sunday's clash against Hertha Berlin was his 73rd competitive outing for the side.

RB Leipzig snapped the Hungary international in 2015 from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.

Gulacsi was under contract with Liverpool from 2008 until 2013 and had a series of loan spells away from Anfield, with time spent at Hereford United, Tranmere Rovers and Hull City.

The 27-year-old has made 24 appearances, including six in the Champions League, for RB Leipzig in the current campaign, keeping four clean sheets in the process.
