Former Lazio player Massimo Piscedda has dubbed Liverpool and Manchester United target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic the most improved player in Serie A of the last 18 months.

The impressive midfielder was the subject of big money bids last summer as Liverpool, Juventus and Inter were all linked with making approaches.

Lazio stood firm and Milinkovic-Savic was happy to stay in Rome, but Manchester United have since joined the hunt and the Serie A outfit look to have mission impossible on their hands when it comes to holding onto the Serbian for the long term.

Piscedda thinks that Milinkovic-Savic has rapidly developed over the last 18 months and believes he has almost hit his peak.

He told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato: "Surely he is the player who has improved the most in Italy over the last 18 months.

"[Lazio coach Simone] Inzaghi has helped develop him on his own.

"I think his development is almost complete", Piscedda added.

Still just 22 years old, Milinkovic-Savic is under contract with Lazio until the summer of 2022.

The Serbia international has so far scored seven goals and provided three assists in 21 appearances in all competitions for Lazio in the current campaign.

His agent is former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman.
