Liverpool legend Gary Gillespie thinks the Reds fans would like to see their team play Bournemouth every week, following the Merseyside giants’ 4-0 win at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s team, who headed into the game on the back of two consecutive draws against Everton and West Bromwich Albion respectively, went into the half time break 3-0 up, courtesy of goals from Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren and Mohamed Salah.

Roberto Firmino then found the back of the net in the second half as Liverpool comfortably won the contest against Bournemouth and once again found themselves back in the top four.

And Gillespie, who thinks the Liverpool fans would like to see Bournemouth as their team’s opponents every week, owing to the Cherries style of play, admitted that the Reds found it much harder to play against defensively-minded Everton and West Brom at Anfield earlier in the month.

“I think Bournemouth are one these sides as a Liverpool fan you would probably look to play against every week because they do come out, they do try to play free-flowing football”, he said on LFC TV.

“I think that suits Liverpool.

“We’ve seen the two games at Anfield where it was really difficult because they put 10 men behind the ball every time – Everton tried to do that and Everton certainly did that.

“But it was a joy to watch [against Bournemouth], everyone will be more than happy [at Liverpool].”

Liverpool are next up against fellow top four hopefuls Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.
