Jose Mourinho is yet to give his nod to a simple loan deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan as Inter continue to push to land the Manchester United creative midfielder.

The Armenian has turned into a peripheral figure at Old Trafford over the last few months and is expected to be on the chopping block when the January window opens next week.

Arsenal have also been keeping tabs on the player and Borussia Dortmund are understood to be in pole position to sign their former midfield as Mkhitaryan prefers a move back to the Westfalenstadion.

However, Inter have not given up on their hopes of signing the 28-year-old and recently got in touch with Mino Raiola to discuss a potential deal next month.

The Nerazzurri have proposed to sign Mkhitaryan on a simple loan deal until the end of the season, but according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Mourinho is yet to give his green signal to such a deal.

The Manchester United manager is believed to prefer a permanent transfer for Mkhitaryan and could only agree to a loan deal if it contains an obligatory purchase option.

Mourinho may also be mindful of the fact that Inter acted tough in negotiations last summer when Manchester United wanted to sign Ivan Perisic, who eventually stayed at the San Siro.
