Leeds United are hoping that Laurens De Bock will be available to make his debut for the club in their Championship game against Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The Whites announced the signing of the left-back from Club Brugge for an undisclosed fee earlier today.

De Bock, who has won all the domestic honours with Club Brugge, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Leeds, which runs until the summer of 2022.

Thomas Christiansen’s team received shock news on Wednesday after it was revealed that full-back Luke Ayling has been ruled out until the end of the season following surgery.

De Bock’s arrival at Elland Road is timely in this regard for Leeds, and according to BBC Radio Leeds, the Whites are hoping to see the Belgian in action at the weekend.

The arrival of the 25-year-old could see Gaetano Berardi, who has been filling in at left-back this season, switch to his preferred right-back role.

De Bock struggled for playing time at Club Brugge this season and it remains to be seen if he is available for selection against Ipswich Town.
