Leeds United and Sheffield United target Ryan Kent has joined Bristol City on loan from Liverpool, according to the Times.

The Reds shipped the winger to Freiburg on a season-long loan deal last summer, but the youngster returned to Anfield earlier in the week after Liverpool terminated his loan spell at the Bundesliga club.

Kent struggled for game time in Germany which left Liverpool unhappy, with the 21-year-old managing just 241 minutes of action over six league games for Freiburg.

Leeds and Sheffield United were interested in signing Kent, but fellow Championship outfit Bristol City have secured the services of the England Under-20 international until the end of the season.

Kent, whose one and only senior appearance for Liverpool to date came in their 2-2 draw with Exeter City in the FA Cup in January 2006, has also enjoyed loan stints at Coventry City and Barnsley.
