Josh Windass believes new Rangers signings Jamie Murphy and Sean Goss have settled well with the rest of the Gers squad.

The duo played 45 minutes in the Rangers’ 1-0 win over Atletico Mineiro in the Florida cup on Thursday night, with Windass scoring the only goal of the game.

While Goss joined Rangers on loan from Queens Park Rangers, Murphy was snapped up by the Scottish giants from Brighton on an initial loan deal until the end of the season, after which his move will become permanent.

And Windass, who thinks Murphy and Goss have fitted into the Rangers squad well, is hopeful about the pair putting in some strong performances in the second half of the campaign.

“Since they’ve come they’ve settled in really well and the lads have made them feel really welcome”, Windass told Rangers TV.

“They’ve fitted into the squad quite well so far and I thought they did well so far.

“Hopefully they can put in some big performances towards the end of the season.”

Windass, who does not want to read too much into Rangers’ win over Atletico Mineiro, however explained that he was pleased to find the back of the net against the Brazilian outfit.

“It was only a friendly, so it doesn’t mean too much, but it’s nice to take part in this competition and to win”, he continued.

“To come to a hot country like this and to play it’s difficult, but the lads did well and we got the win.

“It was a great run from Daniel Candeias down the left and he pulled it back, then Eduardo Herrera has set me up and I just swazzed it into the bottom corner, so it was nice.

“We all knew at the start of the game that we were getting 45 minutes each so to come on and to score is a good thing.”

With the winter break currently in full swing in Scotland, Rangers decided to take a mid-season trip to Florida for some warm weather training and participation in the Florida Cup, where they will next face Corinthians on Saturday.
