Monaco are keeping their options open regarding the future of Liverpool target Thomas Lemar at the club beyond the end of this month's transfer window.

The 22-year-old winger was close to leaving Monaco towards the end of last summer when Liverpool and Arsenal were jostling it out for his signature.

The Frenchman decided against leaving the club then, but his future at Monaco has again come under the scanner in the January window, with the Reds again trying to sign him.

Liverpool are under pressure from their fans to make a big signing after selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona and Lemar has emerged as their top target this month.

Monaco’s public stance has been of defiance and they have made it clear that they do not want to sell Lemar this month, but according to French sports daily L’Equipe, privately the club are keeping their options open.
