Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that he is not currently active in the transfer window.

The Reds brought in Virgil van Dijk from Southampton on a deal worth £75m earlier this month, but more than covered the outlay by then selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £142m.

It has been claimed that Liverpool could look to replace Coutinho and also strengthen their other options, but Klopp insists he is not currently looking to make additions.

The Reds boss held the door open for a possible change if a good signing opportunity presents itself, but in words likely to disappoint Liverpool fans, insists the club are not currently looking for players.

"If something jumps in my face then maybe we will think about it", Klopp told a press conference when asked if he is active in this month's transfer window.

"But we don't look actively to find a new player we don't know so far and think that's the solution.

"We have to use the players we have and I think that makes sense because we have high quality players, especially Adam Lallana, who is not the replacement for Coutinho, but he could not play the first part of this season.

"But I could not say we are active, no", the Liverpool boss added.

Liverpool recently agreed to loan out midfielder Marko Grujic to Cardiff City, while winger Ryan Kent has joined Bristol City, also on loan.

Striker Daniel Sturridge meanwhile is attracting interest from Italian sides Inter and Roma.
