Arsene Wenger has insisted that Arsenal are not close to agreeing a deal with Borussia Dortmund for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 28-year-old striker has emerged as a top target for Arsenal in the January window and club chief executive Ivan Gazidis is in Germany to negotiate with the Bundesliga club.

Dortmund have set the striker’s price at €70m and Arsenal are still some distance away from matching that figure, with further talks are expected to take place between the two clubs in the coming days.

Wenger indicated that Arsenal are in for Aubameyang but stressed that the club are not anywhere close to reaching an agreement with Dortmund at the moment.

The Arsenal boss also suggested that the Gabon striker is not the only player the Gunners are currently considering signing.
