Arsenal are some distance away from Borussia Dortmund’s valuation of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the moment.

The 28-year-old striker is Arsenal’s top target in the winter transfer window and the club have been in talks with Dortmund as they look to agree a deal before the end of the month.

A high powered delegation from Arsenal, led by chief executive Ivan Gazidis, have been in Germany for talks over Aubameyang and are preparing a second offer after Dortmund rejected their first bid.

However, the negotiations are expected to be protracted as BVB have set the striker’s price at €70m and so far Arsenal are yet to match the German club’s valuation.

According to German daily Bild, Arsenal are still around €15m short of the price Dortmund want for the striker before they allow him to leave the club in the winter window.

More talks are expected to take place between the two clubs in the coming days and Arsenal are hopeful that they will be able to negotiate a fee with Dortmund for Aubameyang.

The Gabon international has been left out of Dortmund’s squad for their last two league games and the club have felt tired of the player’s continuous disciplinary indiscretions.

However, Dortmund also believe that there is path back into the team for Aubameyang if he mends his ways.
