Roma are unconvinced about signing Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, it has been claimed.

The England international has been heavily linked with making a move away from Anfield in the ongoing transfer window in search of regular game time.

Roma identified Sturridge as a possible replacement for Edin Dzeko in the event of the Bosnian joining Chelsea this month.

Inter, Sevilla and Valencia have also been credited with showing interest in the 28-year-old, who has managed to clock up just 514 minutes of action over 14 appearances in all competitions in the present campaign, scoring three times.

However, according to Italian daily Corriere della Sera, Roma are unconvinced about Sturridge filling Dzeko’s boots when the 31-year-old heads back to the Premier League with Chelsea.
