West Ham and Inter Milan will be involved in high level talks today as they look to agree a deal for midfielder Joan Mario this month.

The Portuguese midfielder has been on the chopping block at Inter this month as the club are looking to offload players to meet UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

There has been considerable interest from the Premier League in Mario, but the midfielder has already rejected loan offers from Everton and Watford this month.

West Ham are still in the chase for the midfielder and have reportedly reached an agreement over the outlines of a deal with Inter that would see Mario move to east London on an initial loan deal.

According to Italian outlet FcInterNews, the two clubs are set to meet today for further talks and will be looking to get a deal over the line for Mario’s move to the Premier League.

The Nerazzurri are hopeful of further increasing the cost of the deal to earn more money as they look to use West Ham’s interest in the midfielder to their own advantage.

Mario is yet to provide his green signal to a move to West Ham but the Hammers are confident that they can convince him if they can thrash out a final agreement with Inter.
