Arsenal are expected to announce the signature of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund by the end of the day.

Negotiations threatened to derail last week after Dortmund rejected two offers from Arsenal for Aubameyang and were infuriated by the Premier League club’s lethargic approach to the talks.

However, Arsenal have got their act together in recent days and it emerged last night that they were close to agreeing a deal with Dortmund for the 28-year-old.

It has been claimed that an agreement in principle is in place between the two clubs and Arsenal have agreed to fork out a transfer fee worth €63m for Aubameyang.

And according to German daily Bild, the Gabon international’s move to the Emirates stadium is expected to be announced by the end of the day.

Arsenal have seemingly fast tracked the negotiations and have already agreed personal terms on a contract worth €10m per year, which would make him the highest paid player in the club’s history.

Aubameyang was expected to appear in a court today regarding the attack on the Dortmund team bus last year but the striker has not appeared to testify.

He could be travelling to London today to complete his move to Arsenal.
