West Ham United are working overtime to agree a deal for Russia striker Fedor Smolov, but are on a different page to the player's club side Krasnodar, according to Sky Sports News HQ.

The Hammers have just let Diafra Sakho leave for French top flight side Rennes and want to bring in another striker before the window slams shut on Wednesday night.

They want Smolov, who is keen to move to London, and want to agree a loan with an option to buy with Krasnodar.

But the Russian club are only willing to consider selling the 27-year-old and want West Ham to pay £12m for a permanent deal.

The ball now appears to be in the Premier League club's court with the clock ticking on the transfer window.
