Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi will travel to Germany today to undergo a medical at Borussia Dortmund ahead of his loan switch from Chelsea.

The striker didn’t join the Chelsea squad last night ahead of their home game against Bournemouth tonight and is now firmly on his way to Dortmund on deadline day.

Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal with Arsenal for Olivier Giroud and that has opened up the knot that will allow Batshuayi to move to the Westfalenstadion on loan.

According to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, the final details of the deal will be taken care of over the course of the day and Batshuayi will travel to Germany later today.

The striker will undergo a medical at the Bundesliga giants before signing a loan contract until the end of the season with Dortmund.

Batshuayi has not been playing regular football at Chelsea since joining the club in 2016 and has never managed to do enough to impress manager Antonio Conte.

The striker will be hopeful of playing regularly at Dortmund, who see him as a replacement for Arsenal bound Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
