Negotiations have stalled between Everton and Napoli regarding the possible transfer of Davy Klaassen.

The attacking midfielder, who only joined the Toffees from Ajax last summer, has been linked with a move away from Goodision Park in the winter window after failing to make an impact in England.

Napoli have been credited with showing interest in Klaassen, who is also reportedly happy with the terms on offer from the Serie A leaders, a side who wanted him before he joined Everton last summer.

But there is not yet any agreement on Klaassen's image rights and according to Sky Italia, another stumbling block in the Dutchman’s proposed move to Napoli is that he is cup-tied for the Europa League.

As a result, the Italian giants are having second thoughts about signing the 24-year-old, who has thus far managed to clock up 760 minutes over 13 appearances in all competitions, providing an assist.
