Tottenham Hotspur were also one of the clubs who were offered a chance to sign Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic on deadline day, it has been claimed.

The Croatian midfielder wanted to leave Inter during the January transfer window and there was a mad scramble by the Serie A side on deadline day to find a new club for the player.

Inter reportedly offered the midfielder to Everton on deadline day in a potential swap deal with Morgan Schneiderlin joining the Nerazzurri as part of the agreement.

The Toffees rejected the proposal out of hand, but it seems they were not the only Premier League club to be sounded out on signing Brozovic on the final day of the winter window.

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Inter even offered the midfielder to Tottenham on the final day in a desperate attempt to ship him out on deadline day.

The north London club showed no interest in taking up the offer and were happy to sign only Lucas Moura during the winter window.

Brozovic, who was also linked with Arsenal, came close to agreeing a loan move to Sevilla, but Inter coach Luciano Spalletti blocked the negotiations as he did not want to lose the Croatian without signing a replacement.

The midfielder is expected to be on Inter’s cull list when the summer window rolls out in a few months’ time.
