Roma striker Edin Dzeko has conceded that the speculation over his future at the club in January amidst interest from Chelsea did take a toll on his performances.

Chelsea signed Emerson Palmieri from Roma in the winter window, but were also very much interested in signing the Dzeko as they were desperate to add to their forward line.

While Roma have claimed that Chelsea never came up with a good enough offer, it is largely believed it was Dzeko who eventually declined an offer to move back to England with the Blues.

Chelsea and Dzeko could not agree personal terms and the striker conceded that the January window did complicate matters for him at Roma.

He indicated that the speculation over his future did take a toll on his football, but he is keen to move forward and wants to again focus all his energies towards doing well for Roma.
