Inter sent scouts to watch Newcastle United and West Ham United target Andre Zambo Anguissa in action for Marseille against Sporting Braga on Thursday evening.

The defensive midfielder has been in fine form in the present campaign and has played a key role in helping Marseille sit in third spot in Ligue 1.




Zambo Anguissa has thus far made 38 appearances in all competitions this season as his side currently find themselves just a point adrift of second-placed Monaco in the league.

The Cameroon international’s impressive performances have attracted the interest of Newcastle and West Ham, with West Bromwich Albion and Watford also credited with showing interest in him.
 


And according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Inter, who have also joined the race for Zambo Anguissa, sent scouts to Portugal to watch him in action at close quarters in the Europa League contest.

The 22-year-old came on as a half-time substitute against Sporting Braga, but could not prevent his side from losing the match 1-0; Marseille however progressed to the next round by virtue of winning the first leg 3-0 last week.

It is believed that Inter boss Luciano Spalletti is on the lookout for a defensive midfielder and has identified Zambo Anguissa as a possible summer recruit.

The Cameroonian is contracted with Marseille until 2021 and reportedly has a market value of around €10m.

It remains to be seen if the Premier League outfits step up their chase in Zambo Anguissa.
