Pordenone president Mauro Lovisa has claimed West Ham have made an official approach for 16-year-old Italian goalkeeper Marco Meneghetti.

The young goalkeeper made his senior debut for the club in the third tier of Italian football this season and has been on the radar of top sides in Italy and Europe.

A talented young shot-stopper, the 16-year-old has been attracting the prying eyes of scouts across Europe and it seems West Ham are interested in bringing him to England.

Pordenone president Lovisa revealed that the youngster is on West Ham’s radar and he has also received an official approach from the Hammers through an email.

He also added that Serie A giants Inter Milan are also keeping close tabs on Meneghetti.

Speaking about the youngster, Lovisa told Il Gazzettino: “He is a target for West Ham.

“I have received an official email from the British club.

“The fact is that Inter are also interested in Marco.”

If West Ham indeed succeed in signing the young goalkeeper, Meneghetti is expected to be drafted into their Under-18 or Under-23 set-up before he gets close to the senior squad.
