The Paris Saint-Germain board remain divided over the prospect of appointing Antonio Conte as their new coach in the summer despite sounding out the Chelsea manager’s entourage recently.

With Unai Emery again failing to bring Champions League success to PSG, the Spaniard is expected to lose his job at the end of the season and the Parisians are already sounding out potential successors.

It has been claimed that the French giants have been in touch with Conte’s brother over the prospect of the Italian becoming their new coach in the summer.

Conte is widely expected to leave Chelsea at the end of the season despite having a contract until 2019 and PSG are interested in taking him to the French capital ahead of next season.

However, nothing has been finalised yet and according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the PSG board remain at odds over approaching the fiery Italian this summer.

While a number of the club hierarchy believe Conte is exactly the kind of headstrong coach the PSG dressing room needs to reach the next level, there are also naysayers on the board.

The Italian remains a volatile character and many feel his style of management can only bring short term success to the club.

Conte also remains a very hands on coach and demands his charges maintain tactical discipline, which many believe could create a conflict between him and star players such as Neymar.

The Chelsea boss could also have an offer to take up the Italy job in the summer, but PSG job could be more tempting because of the financial package on offer.
