Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has confirmed that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur wing target Malcom is on the German champions’ radar.

The 20-year-old was linked with a move away from Bordeaux in the winter window, but Ligue 1 club refused to sell as they wanted him to lead their bid to survive in the French top tier.

Tottenham and Arsenal have continued to keep an eye out for Malcom and he is almost certain to leave the French club in the summer, but this time he could have Bayern Munich as one of his options.

The German champions have held talks with his representatives already to discuss the possibility of signing the Brazilian winger and have gradually become the favourites to take him to Bavaria.

Heynckes conceded that he has little knowledge of the player, but admits that the Bayern Munich scouting department have been keeping tabs on the Bordeaux winger.

The veteran coach, who has said that he wants to leave at the end of the season, has left the job of identifying targets to club sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

“I don’t know the player [well] enough”, Heynckes told German magazine Sport Bild when asked about Malcom.

“But he’s certainly in the focus of our scouting department like many other players, with Hasan Salihamidzic on top of it. ‘Brazzo’ has very clear ideas and he is driving forward with the planning.

“He knows exactly the players we would like to have and has high quality players in mind.”

It remains to be seen whether either Arsenal or Tottenham manage to compete with Bayern Munich should they decide to move for Malcom in the summer.
