Celtic midfielder Scott Brown is of the opinion that the pressure will be on Rangers, ahead of the Glasgow derby on Sunday.

The Gers, who will head into the game at the weekend on the back of a six-match winning streak in all competitions, currently trail league leaders Celtic by six points; the Hoops however have a game in hand.

If Rangers win at Ibrox, Celtic would have a chance to go back to six points ahead and if Graeme Murty’s team lose, the Bhoys’ lead at the top of the table could stretch to 12 points.

As a result, Brown, whose side have won their last three outings at Ibrox, including one in the present campaign, feels Rangers will be under the pressure in the Glasgow derby.

“I think the pressure is on them”, Brown said on Celtic TV.

“I think for us, we managed to do it last season very well.

“But it’s all about what we do this season, we will try to do exactly the same.

“We will go to Ibrox and as everyone knows it’s a hard place to go, but we have managed to go there on the last three occasions script three great wins.”

Brown, who has received 15 yellow cards and a red card while playing against Rangers, warned his charges against getting caught up in the occasion of the volatile Glasgow derby.

“You can get caught up in the occasion”, he continued.

“I’ve been caught up in the occasion before and got sent off.

“But we learn from our mistakes.”
