Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim has emerged as the Arsenal’s board preferred choice to take charge of the club in succession to Arsene Wenger.

Wenger has a contract until the end of next season and the Frenchman has made it clear that he won’t be leaving on his accord despite the clamour for change amongst the Arsenal fans.

The Arsenal board also remain divided on whether to move the legendary figure on in the summer, but they are actively looking at candidates who could replace the Frenchman.

And according to Eurosport France, Jardim has been gradually becoming the man the Arsenal board want if they look to replace Wenger at the end of the season.

The Monaco coach’s ability to work under financial constraints while producing competitive teams is as an attraction for Arsenal, who are not being able to compete in the transfer market with clubs such as Manchester City and Manchester United.

Brendan Rodgers is also believed to be on Arsenal’s radar, but he is still seen as someone who could struggle to win trophies outside Scotland.

For the moment Jardim is the Arsenal board’s favourite, but the club are yet to take any definitive decision on what to do with Wenger.

And with Arsenal recently producing some good results after a horrendous run of form, the Frenchman could still be in the dugout next season at the Emirates.
