Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez believes that his team's Premier League status is not yet secure and they need to carry on to get themselves over the line.

The Magpies came away 2-1 winners against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon, in the process climbing up the table to be placed tenth.

The manager though insists that the job is far from done, though he believes that the result takes Newcastle closer to security.

The need will therefore be to carry on and do their job in the remaining games so that they give themselves the best possible chance of survival.

"Not yet, still we are closer but we have to carry on. Nearly, but we have to carry on", Benitez was quoted as saying by the BBC when asked whether his team are safe.

On his overall impression about the game ,the manager added that the Foxes can always be dangerous with players that have the ability to hurt any side on any given day.

However, the way his team responded by playing counter-attacking football was delightful for Benitez.

"Leicester are always dangerous, they have the players who can hurt you, but we had three or four counter attacks where we could have done better.

"You cannot complain."
