Chelsea legend Clive Walker believes the Blues' fans need to up their game to help the side at Stamford Bridge, noting that West Ham United's supporters rose to the occasion.

Antonio Conte's men were held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, something which appears to have put paid to their fanit hopes of finishing in the Premier League's top four.

Walker thinks that Chelsea needed the fans to step up in much the same way they do in away games.

And he feels that West Ham were well backed by their supporters in a game which the Hammers knew could play a big part in securing Premier League safety.

"I said I wanted to see a performance, but I also wanted to see some input from the fans", Walker said on Chelsea TV.

"I didn't get that from the fans today.

"Sometimes when we play away from home you seem to get that bigger input; we did from the West Ham fans perhaps for some of the game today.

"But I think we need that from the fans. We need a bit of help."

With the top four now looking out of reach for last season's champions, Chelsea look to be pinning their season on winning the FA Cup; the Blues have a semi-final tie against Southampton later this month.

Chelsea play Southampton first in a league encounter this coming Saturday, with the Blues knowing beating the Saints would give them a psychological edge ahead of the cup clash.
