Tottenham Hotspur skipper Hugo Lloris insists that his team have been showing character and ambition in all their games because there is still second spot in the Premier League to play for.

The Lilywhites have won their last six consecutive league games and are currently placed fourth in the league table with 67 points from 32 league games, trailing second placed Manchester United by just four points.

Third placed Liverpool on the other hand also have the same points as Tottenham, but have played one game more than Mauricio Pochettino's team.

Lloris insists that his team have shown character and ambition because of the fact that they want to challenge for that second spot and even if that is not possible they want to finish as high as possible.

“We have the quality, the right spirit and the experience in the Premier League”, Lloris told his club's official website.

“We show character and ambition because there is still second place to play for and we will try our best to finish as high as we can in the table.”

The next game in the league for Tottenham will be against league leaders Manchester City and after the wins against Chelsea and Stoke City recently, Lloris and his team-mates will hope that their winning run continue against the Citizens as well.
