Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur target Jann-Fiete Arp will leave Hamburg in the summer if the club are relegated to the second tier of German football.

A 3-2 win over Schalke at the weekend has provided a new lease of life to Hamburg’s hopes of survival in the Bundesliga, but they remain in precarious position.

And their fate in the Bundesliga will be key to 18-year-old striker’s Arp’s decision to continue at the Volksparkstadion beyond the summer transfer window.

Considered one of the brightest young talents in German football, the youngster is a coveted player in Europe with top clubs vying for his services.

And according to German magazine Sport Bild, Arp will leave Hamburg in the summer if they fail to maintain their status as a Bundesliga club at the end of the season.

Chelsea and Tottenham are some of the clubs believed to be eyeing him, but it has been claimed that Arp has decided he will join Bayern Munich if he leaves Hamburg in the coming months.

There are suggestions the German champions will pay a transfer fee of around €8m to take Arp to Bavaria during the summer window.

Hamburg are prepared to offer him a new and improved five-year contract, but the youngster is prepared to leave if survival in the Bundesliga is not secured.
