Tottenham Hotspur legend Graham Roberts has suggested that the construction of the club's new ground may not affect Spurs' spending in the transfer market.

It has been suggested that Spurs could have to cut back as a result of their new stadium, in a similar way to Arsenal after their move into the Emirates Stadium.

Tottenham sold Kyle Walker last summer and some have suggested they may make another big sale in the forthcoming summer transfer window.

But Roberts has told fans they may be shocked by the recruitment Spurs do in the summer window as he indicated the new stadium will not put a stop to the buying of players.

The Tottenham legend wrote on Twitter: "Who says it will put a hold on buying players.

"You might be shocked", Roberts added.
