Mauricio Pochettino has refused to put a price tag on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen and says questions should be directed to chairman Daniel Levy.

Eriksen has been lauded for his performances for Spurs throughout the current campaign, with the Denmark international kicking on to another level wth his play.

The creative midfielder cost Tottenham just £11m to sign from Ajax in the summer of 2013 and he is now widely considered to be one of the best in his position in the Premier League.

With Tottenham going up against Manchester City this weekend some have dubbed the match a clash between Eriksen and Kevin De Bruyne, with both having claims to be the league's top midfielder.

Asked at a press conference if the pair are the best midfielders in the league, Pochettino replied: "Both are fantastic, I don't know if they are the best but if you make your top five I am sure all the managers and football people are going to name them both of course."

And given De Bruyne cost £55m, a total now seen as a snip, Pochettino was asked how much Eriksen might be worth.

But the Argentine kicked the question upstairs to Levy.

"That is about market and I do not have control of the market, I don't understand it too much, that is a question for my boss", Pochettino said.

Eriksen has provided ten assists in 31 Premier League games for his team-mates this season, while also chipping in with nine key goals.

His deal at Spurs has just two years left to run.
