Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is not willing to be drawn on talk that Toby Alderweireld will be sold in the summer transfer window.

Spurs have not yet been able to agree a new contract with the centre-back and, despite his return to full fitness, Pochettino has been overlooking him for matchday squads in a sign he could be on the way out.

With Alderweireld attracting attention from clubs such as Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, it has been assumed he is now living his final months as a Tottenham player.

But Pochettino is not about to add fuel to the fire of exit speculation and insists he is sure the defender will be in action for Tottenham again before the season ends.

"We make a drama sometimes for small things", Pochettino told a press conference when asked if Alderweireld will be sold.

"After 14 games unbeaten we're not going to talk about players injured for a long time.

"Toby is still our player, two-year contract.

"I am sure he is going to play until the end of the season.

"He is doing well, training, he just needs to wait for his opportunity", he added.

All eyes will be on when Alderweireld returns to the Tottenham side as speculation over a move elsewhere shows no sign of dying down.
