Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino insists that it would be wrong to believe that a top four spot in the Premier League is already sealed.

The Lilywhites are currently placed fourth in the league table with 67 points from 32 games, level on points with third placed Liverpool, who have played one game more.

The Londoners though have a massive game to tackle on Saturday evening as they take on league leaders Manchester City.

The Argentine manager insists that it is important that they continue with their winning run as there is always the chance for others to capitalise if they slip up.

Chelsea are realistically the only side who could yet catch Tottenham.

"In football until you get or you achieve what you want, never in football is it over until the end. I think we need to keep pushing, winning games and a massive three points against Manchester City", the Tottenham boss said at a press conference.

"I think it’s still a lot of work to do until the end. You cannot underestimate clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, different clubs, big clubs that can win every game.

"You need to keep focused on winning games and points and in the moment when mathematically it’s what you want, then of course in that moment it’s over. But until that moment it’s impossible to think like this. In the moment you start to think like this you start to lose.

"We know this very well in football. Look what’s happened in the last few days in the Champions League, different results. Never the tie is over. Always football can surprise you."

The Lilywhites have won seven of their last nine league games and have not yet given up hope of reeling in Manchester United to finish second in the Premier League this season.
