Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain believes that his young team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold has learnt from his mistakes and has improved massively.

Full-back Alexander-Arnold has impressed with his performances this season, earning praise. Reds' manager Jurgen Klopp has also recognised his contribution, selecting him to play in as many as 16 league games.

Former Arsenal man Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has seen the player from close quarters while sharing the pitch with him, feels that the sky is the limit for the academy recruit, improving with every mistake he commits.

At Alexander-Arnold's age Oxlade-Chamberlain believes that it is natural to commit mistakes, but says a player has to learn from those and the best thing about the youngster is that he does.

"I think he's grown massively. In every big game he's stood up and been counted", the 24-year-old told his club's official website.

"I'm sure along the way he's had a few mistakes but whenever I've seen him make errors I've not seen them repeated and that's credit to him as a person and as a player.

"To make mistakes at this level, you can come in for criticism and scrutiny, [but] he's learnt from it and got on with his business.

"He's never scared to get on the ball and produce great things going forward and defensively he's been outstanding."

Reflecting on the starlet's performance against Manchester City over the course of two legs in the Champions League, Oxlade-Chamberlain said: "Over the two legs [against] Manchester City, it's the best performance I've seen from anyone over two legs in such a big game.

"And even more credit to turn up [against Bournemouth] and produce again – that's great for him going forward.

"The sky's his limit, he can go as far as he wants to in this game, he really can."
