Bundesliga club Hoffenheim are working to remove a release clause applicable for this summer in the contract of Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United target Nadiem Amiri.

The midfielder was in superb form for Hoffenheim during the first half of the Bundesliga season and as a result attracted serious interest from the Premier League.

Hoffenheim managed to keep hold of him in January, but now fear clubs activating a release clause of just €17m in the midfielder's contract in the summer.

As such, according to German daily Bild, Hoffenheim are working to abolish the release clause.

The German club want Amiri to agree to an increase in wages in exchange for removing the €17m release clause contained within his contract.
