Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has dismissed any suggestion that he could put chasing the Golden Boot above the Reds' push for success in the Champions League.

The Egyptian is in line to win the Premier League Golden Boot this season as he leads the goalscoring charts in the league with 30, five more than his nearest competitor Harry Kane.

While there is still time for the honours to be announced, the immediate task in hand for the Reds is the Champions League, where they are scheduled to face Salah's former side Roma in the semi-final, which will be played over the course of two legs, with the first to be played at Anfield next Tuesday.

The 25-year-old insists that he has his sights set on helping his team win the tournament and while he is also keen on the Golden Boot, if given the choice he would always prefer the Champions League.

"I try to score every game to help the team and to get the points”, Salah told his club's official website.

“That is the most important thing for us, that we play as a team, as 11 players, and so each goal for me is to help the team.

"It is a great feeling, of course it is a great feeling, but in the end I am just happy to score and help the team.

“If I had a choice between the Champions League and the Golden Boot, then of course it would be the Champions League, no doubt the Champions League.

"To win the Champions League is huge for everyone.

"I don’t care about the rest.”
