Rangers have announced senior player Kenny Miller and club captain Lee Wallace have been suspended pending an investigation.

The veteran duo were involved in a heated bust-up with manager Graeme Murty following Rangers’ 4-0 drubbing by Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals at Hampden Park on Sunday.

Miller was left out of the starting eleven before the game and the striker and club captain Wallace clashed with Murty as tensions ran high after another poor result against Glasgow rivals Celtic.

It emerged earlier today that strict action will be taken against the duo for disrespecting the manager and Rangers announced that the two have been handed suspensions.

A club statement read: “Rangers can confirm two players, Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller, have this morning been suspended pending investigation into a team related incident.

“The club will make no further comment until this investigation has been completed.”

Miller, whose contract runs out at the end of the season, is rated as unlikely to play for Rangers again.

Wallace, who has been out injured since September, is facing a similar outcome and could eventually leave the club he led back to the top tier of Scottish football.
