Bordeaux majority shareholder Nicolas de Tavernost has indicated that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur wing target Malcom will be sold in the summer.

The Brazilian winger’s future has been under the scanner since the winter window when it emerged that major Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in signing him.

Bordeaux refused to sell the player in January as they did not want to jeopardise their efforts to survive in Ligue 1, but a summer move was always believed to be a certainty.

And De Tavernost, the chairman of the board of directors of the company who are the majority shareholders at Bordeaux, has indicated that Malcom will be allowed to leave at the end of the season.

He was quoted as saying by French outlet Maxifoot: “There are always purchases and sales being made, and there is a major Brazilian player who you know wants to leave the club.

“And we are going to do what is best for our interests.

"This is why we bought this player and will eventually let him go in the off season.”

Arsenal are still believed to be interested in the player, but Tottenham are the ones said to be pushing to land him in the summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly been in touch with the player's agents to convince him to move to Spurs.
