RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick has revealed that the club are keen to extend Everton loanee Ademola Lookman’s stay beyond the summer.

The Bundesliga club signed the 20-year-old winger on loan from Everton in the winter window and he has made seven senior appearances for the club, scoring twice in the process.

RB Leipzig have been impressed with what they have seen of Lookman and Rangnick admits if it was up to him, he would waste no time in extending the winger’s stay at the club.

However, he admits that the club did not negotiate an option on Lookman when they signed him from Everton in January and conceded that it is up to the Premier League club to decide his future.

The RB Leipzig deal-maker is certain that there will only be clarity on Lookman’s situation after the end of the season.

Speaking to German magazine Kicker, Rangnick said when asked about potentially holding on to Lookman for next season: “If it was up to us, I would already know the answer.

“But it’s not about only us. We have no clause in the [loan] contract.

“I think we can answer the question only at the end of the season.

"It also depends on what happens at Everton.”

Lookman, an England Under-21 international, has a contract until 2021 with Everton.
