AC Milan are leading the chase to sign Shakhtar Donetsk winger Bernard, who has also been linked with Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Bernard's contract with Shakhtar Donetsk is due to expire in the summer and a number of clubs are eyeing a potential bargain.

A Premier League move could be a possibility for the 25-year-old and such a switch was rated as the more likely after talk Inter had pulled out of the race for his signature due to his contractual demands.

But according to Italian broadcaster Premium Sport, Inter's city rivals AC Milan are the club currently in the lead in the chase for Bernard's signature.

The Rossoneri are expected to limit their spending in the forthcoming summer transfer window, which means Bernard fits the bill as a potential addition.
