Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers insists that the support he gets from the board at Celtic Park helps him to work with confidence.

The Bhoys are on the brink of creating history as they look to clinch their seventh league title in a row with a win against Hibernian at Easter Road this Saturday and move towards collecting a double treble.

There is the prospect of the season becoming even more special with the Scottish Cup trophy also being available, where they are scheduled to take on Motherwell in the final on 19th May.

Being asked at a press conference whether rewriting history had been an aim for him since taking over, the manager said that it has indeed been so and in his attempt he has been helped by the club's fans with all their support and the board also sticking by him.

"That [creating history] was my aim coming in, for the length of time I was here to create something that would inspire the supporters", the former Liverpool boss said at press conference.

"That hasn't changed for me, there is still a lot of work to do here for me and a lot to achieve on and off the pitch.

"You can only do that if you're happy and, for me, I couldn't be happier at this club.

"The support I get from the board, it's all very aligned and clear.

"That allows me to work in confidence, which gives stability to the team and helps us move forward."

Celtic are currently 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with five games remaining to be played.
