Rangers boss Graeme Murty says he is sure his squad have what it takes to lock down second spot in the Scottish Premiership, despite the wheels threatening to fall off their season.

Confidence took a major hit at Ibrox last weekend when Rangers were demolished 4-0 by rivals Celtic in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

The fallout saw experienced Rangers stars Kenny Miller and Lee Wallace handed club suspensions, while speculation that Murty could not survive did the rounds.

Murty is preparing his Rangers side to take on Hearts at Ibrox this coming Sunday, with finishing second behind Celtic the main aim for the Gers.

Aberdeen and Hibernian are both looking to make sure they overhaul Rangers, but Murty is sure that his squad has what it takes to do the job.

"We're in second place now", he said at a press conference.

"I said all the way through don't judge us when we win six in a row, don't judge us when we get beat, don't pat me on the back, see what we're like at the end.

"I'm confident this team and this squad has more than enough in the tank to go and finish second.

"I said it at the start and I reiterate it now. That belief won't change."

Following their meeting with Hearts, Rangers head to Celtic Park to take on Celtic.
