Leeds United linked defender Giovanni Troupee has warned current club FC Utrecht that he cannot tolerate another season of bit-part appearances.

Despite being highly rated and tipped for big things in the future, the 20-year-old has had to make do with only occasional appearances breaking up the regular feeling of warming the bench for Utrecht in the current campaign.

He has clocked up just 609 minutes of football in the Dutch top flight for Utrecht this season and his unhappiness saw him linked with a move away in the winter transfer window.

English Championship side Leeds have been mooted as being fans of Troupee and the Yorkshire side may be delighted to hear the full-back issue a warning to Utrecht ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window.

He told Dutch daily the Algemeen Dagblad: "This is certainly not possible for another year.

"I am certainly not satisfied.

"I want to play football, I am still young.

"Last year I played in everything, this year unfortunately that did not happen", Troupee, who made 29 Eredivisie appearances last term, explained.

"I am certainly not happy with this situation and I hope it changes."

Troupee has been capped by the Netherlands at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-19 level.
