Rangers manager Graeme Murty is certain that he retains the confidence of his squad despite the off field issues of the past week.

A shambolic on field performance against Celtic last weekend, which led to a 4-0 defeat, was followed by an off field storm that saw two senior Rangers players in Kenny Miller and Lee Wallace suspended.

The duo exchanged fiery words with the Rangers manager at Hampden Park following their defeat to Celtic and the Glasgow giants took tough action against both players.

The off field storm has threatened to cloud the end of the season for Rangers as they pursue second in the league table, but Murty is confident he has the support of his squad.

The Rangers manager stressed that despite all the drama off the pitch this week, the players have maintained their focus on Sunday’s huge game against Hearts at Ibrox.

Asked if he retains the support of the Rangers squad, Murty said in a press conference: “Yes.”

When probed how he is sure about the support from his players, the Rangers boss said: “I have been training them all week.

"I have seen them work this week.

“They are thinking about Sunday.

"They are thinking about the biggest game of our season, which is the next one.”
