Chelsea youth coach Jody Morris is not counting out Tottenham Hotspur’s penchant for a late-season implosion that would allow the Blues to finish in the Premier League's top four.

Antonio Conte’s men scored a hard fought 2-1 win over Burnley on Thursday night, which allowed the west Londoners close the gap to just five points with fourth place Tottenham.

With four games left in the season, Chelsea have a glimmer of hope to again finish in the Champions League spots after they looked doomed a few weeks ago and Morris believes Conte’s men do have some winnable games left in the season.

Chelsea are depending on a ten-point swing to pip Tottenham for a top four spot, but Morris is not ruling out that possibility as the north London club have shown the inclination towards slowing down towards the end of campaigns.

Speaking on Chelsea TV, the youth coach said: “You look at the games in our run-in and there are certainly a lot of points there for us.

“You never know.

“It wouldn't be the first time that Spurs have slowed up with the points towards the end of their season.”

Barring the defeat to Manchester City, Tottenham have not lost a game in the calendar year and have been one of the in-form teams since the turn of the year.
